As part of its ever-expanding Mission:Green initiative, the City of Westland provides a permanent collection site for area residents, businesses and schools to drop off old electronics.  The drop-off site is located at the Westland Recycling Center at 37137 Marquette.  Items to be collected include Covered Electronic Devices (CEDs) such as computers, monitors, televisions and printers, Eligible Electronic devices (EEDs) such as mobile telephones, computer cables, mouse or keyboards, fax machines, MP3 players, PDF’s, video game consoles, VCR and DVD players, zip drives, scanners, and other devices such as microwaves, telephones, stereos, radios and small household appliances.  No large appliances can be accepted such as air conditioners, stoves, refrigerators, etc. and please no hazardous waste or items containing mercury.   While you’re at the recycling center you will notice that the center has now gone single-stream like our award winning curbside recycling program. Everything gets put into the compactor at the west side of the site unless collection is posted otherwise.

We make it easy to be green here in Westland!!!    BE ADVISED THAT DUE TO INCREASES IN COMMODITIES PRICING WE ARE TEMPORARILY NOT ACCEPTING E-WASTE AT THIS TIME.  SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE THIS MAY CAUSE.  ITEMS THAT YOU WOULD NORMALLY RECYCEL IN THIS MANNER CAN BE DISPOSSED OF AT THE HAZARDOUS WASTE DISPOSAL DAYS THIS SPRING AND SUMMER.
